I found this book to be very enchanting. It touched on many tough issues ie mental illness, death, abandonment but the author chose to make it an uplifting book even when the character were faced with those hardships. I fell in love with all the people in this book and found myself wishing I had grown up in the South where there is always room for one more. My favorite quote in this book was “It's what we believe about ourselves that determines how others see us.” I think it took all summer for CeeCee to live and believe it. Those older women healed her like no amount of theraphy could. It had a touch of "Steel Magnolias" for me with the coming together of strong females.
